12-12-18

Today's one of the last few days we have, before midterms, to work on our robot and get it ready. We are really close to finishing and hope that we can complete by next class. Our robot just needs a few final tweaks before it's ready to go. Melqui finally completed his certification yesterday.

12-10-18

We worked on adding the scooper and setting it up so that the ball is able to fall straight toward where the shooter is. We're a few steps closer to finishing. Mykel got the scooper to work and I had to fix something minor on the shooter. Fiona soldered some wires so we could have more Ys to connect the wires into the ports on the cortex.

12-6-18

Mykel, Fiona and I improved the structure which would support the arms today. We got the cap lifter to work for sure and hope it will work just fine during the challenge, we just have to make further improvements to the cortex because for some strange reason it keeps shutting off and blinking red lights and it is messing with the system. Next on the list of completion is the ball scooper.

12-4-18

Today we got some major progress done as we finally achieved picking up a cap and stacking it. It is not 100% perfect but we are still fixing some small tweaks, one of them being the wheels so that our robot is able to make turns better and not be so janky. Fiona and I will work on designing, building, and placing the ball scooper on our robot really soon.

11-30-18

Mykel, Fiona and I worked on soldering some wires for our robot. She also worked on SolidWorks. Melqui is still working on practicing for his SolidWorks certification since he is taking it next week. Mykel is planning on taking the robot home to fix some things on it and also add the claw.

11-26-18

Nicolle and I are working on fixing the major issues on our robot because we got the rubric for our midterm. We're also adding our ball collector and ball shooter today. So far our robot looks really good and it's very sturdy and it's coming together really well.

11-19-18

Mykel and I are adding our end effector to our robot in order to be able to flip the caps. Fiona is still on the process of reassembling the robot of SolidWorks since our chasy is different from that of the last model. Melqui is still working on SolidWorks.

11-15-18

Melqui is still working on SolidWorks for his certification which is in about 3 weeks. Mykel and I worked on adding the arms to our new and improved robot. Fiona worked on SolidWorks since we restarted our robot and she has to rebuild the entire robot from scratch.

11-13-18

Fiona worked on SolidWorks while Mykel and I worked on our robot. Melqui is still practicing for his SolidWorks certification which is somewhere around December. We hope to add the ball shooter and scooper by next class...

11-5-18

Mykel made some other small changes on the robot and changed the way the wheels were placed to make them roll a little bit smoother and make the robot travel a little smoother so it's not as "janky."We hope to complete the challenge by the end of this week.

11-1-18

Today we worked more on the arm for our robot making adjustments along the way. Fiona is changing our Solidworks robot to go along with the real one since we made those adjustments. We are thinking of changing are chassis to fit in with the 18 inch by 18 inch rule.

10-30-18

Fiona worked on putting together the SolidWorks model together since we made some adjustments to our robot, we basically rebuilt it. We're slowly working our way on putting the new and improved arms on the robot which means we are closer and closer to completing the challenge.

10-26-18

Mykel came up with a new design for the arms which we agreed that might actually work compared to the last design we had. Fiona's working on soldering (also teaching some people in our class to solder☺) and Melqui is practicing SolidWorks for his certification. Since Melqui's busy, a new addition to our team was made, Monique is now on our team. We plan on moving some other stuff around our robot so we can place the thing responsible for picking up the balls and transferring them to the shooter.

10-24-18

Mykel and Melqui took apart little parts of our robot so we could fix it. Fiona was working on fixing up some motors so we could use them on our robot, and just everyone in the class could use them. The improvements we're making on our robot are mostly in the arms (to be able to pick up the caps) and in the spacing of its components.

10-17-18

Today Melqui, Mykel, and Nicolle worked on the robot, they fixed some issues with the wheels/motor and the arm and how it's going to pick up the caps. I worked on SolidWorks since today is the last day to get it done and turn it in since the quarter is ending.

10-11-18

Today is the final day to complete our SolidWorks and challenge before the end of the first quarter. Fiona's adding the final tweaks to the second model of the robot which is designed for the cap challenge, so it consists of the arms and the end of the arm which is actually responsible for picking up the caps. Mykel, Melqui and I are working on adding the very final tweaks on the robot itself.

10-9-18

We're re-positioning the chain's gears to accommodate the wheels on the robot. We're also connecting the arm's two motors to the cortex so we can start programming them. So far, the robot is looking pretty good and we hope to be done with the challenge we need by the end of the quarter. 🔧🔩

10-5-18

We found out that the problem with our arm wasn't because the battery was dead but with how our gears were placed. So today we exchanged the gears we had for our arm with ones that were a different size to change the torque. We also worked on fixing our program and wire placement to be able to move our robot. So far it moves smoothly

10-3-18

Today the main focus was working on programming the arm of our robot. We hit a few bumps on the road when the arm wasn't moving when we tried to control it. We hope that the problem was only dealing with the battery because it wasn't charged and not with the structure of the robot itself.

9-27-18

Today Mykel and Melqui decided that they wanted to fix some stuff on our robot and Fiona and I helped. Anthony came over to our table for "moral support." 😂 Overall, we're doing some good progress and hopefully, by next class, we'll be closer and closer to completing the challenge.

9-25-18

We're working on placing the arm on our robot and we're making some minor adjustments by changing up the way we're going to get our robot to pick up the balls. Instead of having two large gears with rubber bands, the large "picker upper," we're going to use two smaller ones. The reason we're doing this is because we realize that we don't have too much space and we need it in order to connect the picker upper with the part that is gonna be attached to the shooter. The boys want to figure that part out while Fiona and I work on building and bettering the bottom parts for the arms of the robot.

9-21-18

We came up with an idea for our arm and tried to incorporate it into our robot. We worked more on our robot's ability to pick up the balls as well as where we were gonna place it on our robot.

Today's one of the last few days we have, before midterms, to work on our robot and get it ready. We are really close to finishi...
